Apricot

Apricot is a fruit that is important and mainly grown in the dry temperate and mid-hill regions of India. Apricots are closely related to peaches, plums, and cherries fruit. They are eaten fresh or cooked and are preserved by canning or drying. The fruit is also widely made into jam and is often used to flavour liqueurs. Apricots are a good source of vitamin A and are high in natural sugar. Dried apricots are an excellent source of iron. Apricots are grown well in mid-hilly regions of India which requires coolers climatic conditions. Yellow apricots require warm climatic conditions and are grown from 1000 to 1500 meters above. Southwestern and Northeastern parts of India are highly suited for the growing of Apricots.
